Assorted photos from Quartzite. FYI: Quartzite is different. There are no actual "Homes" near town, and I haven't seen a school or any evidence of a school-or children for that matter. There isn't a grocery store as we are all used to. There are two small grocery stores, dollar stores, and two large discount grocery places with packaged and canned things. I haven't seen a pharmacy. It is a place of it's own. But the landscape is awesome and we are taking it in!
Gallup and Santa Fe
We spent one day in Gallup, New Mexico. The town is lined with Native American Art Galleries (many are like museums), jewelry fabrication supply shops, and Native American craftspeople. In a supply shop Bob struck up a conversation with another shopper who answered questions about choosing shell material. The mans name is Bruce Joe. He is a well known, accomplished Native American jewelry artist. We also met one of my Native American jewelery heros, Lyndon Tsosie. Lyndon is a award winning jeweler who teaches in workshops and online videos. We moved on to Santa Fe on Friday, March 10. BLM camping reviews for the area mentioned roaming dogs and people- we made reservations at Sata Fe Skys RV park! These photos are from the park. Metal yard art is common here. Yes - It's a unique place for sure. In the summer it's totally cleared out. Glad to see you two having such a great time in the desert!
